Visão Geral

Teresa Cunha-Oliveira tem formação em bioquímica e biologia celular, tendo obtido o seu doutoramento pela Universidade de Coimbra em 2007. O seu trabalho experimental focou-se na identificação de biomarcadores de saúde mitocondrial e no desenvolvimento de intervenções direcionadas para a mitocôndria em várias condições humanas. Recentemente, a Teresa expandiu a sua expertise para a biologia computacional, ciência de dados e gestão de dados de investigação, adquirindo competências em SQL, Python, R, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel (Avançado) e MATLAB. Ela também contribuiu para a implementação de sistemas de gestão de qualidade ISO 9001 na unidade de serviço MitoXT do Centro de Neurociências e Biologia Celular da Universidade de Coimbra, tendo adquirido experiência prática na melhoria da excelência e padronização da investigação. Adquiriu também competências em aprendizagem automática e visualização de dados com o objetivo de melhorar a reprodutibilidade da análise e comunicação de dados de investigação. Atualmente, a Teresa está envolvida em dois projetos europeus: Era Chair EXCELScIOR: EXCELlent Science with Impact, Open and Reliable (GA 101087416) e PasGras - De-risking metabolic, environmental, and behavioral determinants of obesity in children, adolescents, and young adults (GA 101080329). O seu registo bibliométrico inclui um índice Hf de 30 com 2305 citações (Scopus), 45 artigos de investigação, 16 revisões e 17 capítulos de livros. A sua recente revisão sobre “Melhores práticas para a gestão e partilha de dados em investigação biomédica experimental” foi publicada na Physiological Reviews, a revista de maior impacto em Fisiologia (IF 2023 = 29,9). A Teresa supervisionou e co-supervisionou estudantes em várias instituições e níveis académicos, tendo também garantido dois financiamentos como investigadora principal, totalizando €263,7 mil. Ela promove várias iniciativas de formação e participou em vários júris académicos, demonstrando o seu compromisso com a orientação da próxima geração de cientistas. Como exemplo, co-organizou vários cursos avançados sobre “Desenho de Investigação Experimental” e liderou vários workshops promovendo as melhores práticas na investigação biomédica. Tem particular interesse em criar fluxos de trabalho de gestão de dados de investigação fáceis de usar, adaptados para cientistas biomédicos experimentais, visando aumentar a adoção das melhores práticas de investigação, especialmente no manuseio e na análise de dados.
