Overview

I received my master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (FFUC) and I am currently a PhD student in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the same institution. I am developing my work, which is related to the study of circadian rhythms and neurodegenerative diseases, at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC). I am a member of 2 research groups at CNC (Neuroendocrinology and Aging Group; Vectors and Gene Therapy Group) occasionally working in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry laboratory at FFUC as well. In the context of my PhD, I am also part of the EIT Health Ageing PhD School. In 2023, I received an EMBO Scientific Exchange Grant to work in the research group of Prof. Giorgio Colombo at the Department of Chemistry, University of Pavia, Italy. I have some previous professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry field, particularly in Medical Affairs and R&D. In 2018, I received the award for best oral presentation in basic science at the AstraZeneca Foundation Innovate Competition of the internationally prestigious iMed Conference® 10.0 (Lisbon, Portugal). Between 2017 and 2019, I was a student representative in the Senate of the University of Coimbra and an Editorial Board Member of the Coimbra University Press.
