REC-UC aims to consolidate and scale an integrated rodent and brain organoid experimentation core at the University of Coimbra, enabling preclinical and translational research in neurodevelopment and disease. The initiative combines standardized workflows, technical capacity, and a digital platform to accelerate collaboration, service delivery, and precision-medicine–oriented innovation.

Main Goals

Implement and validate a set of SOPs, experimental pipelines, and quality metrics to ensure reproducibility, efficiency, and traceability across rodent and organoid studies. Establish the operational model (including a business plan and a digital tool) to expand capacity, streamline access for internal/external users, and catalyze competitive projects and partnerships.
