Current research in the Neuroscience and Disease area investigates brain function, dysfunction and therapies for brain diseases.
Current research in the Neuroscience and Disease area ranges from investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms of learning and memory to the regulation of vascular tone by neuronal activity. Our researchers are also at the forefront of research into the molecular mechanisms of neurological and psychiatric diseases, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, PolyQ diseases, depression and autism. For that neuroscientists are using established and in-house newly generated animal models of disease, towards discovering new treatment and prevention options.
CNC-UC (CiBB member) endorsed ALBA Network Declaration on Equity and Inclusion. ALBA is a network of neuroscientists focused on promoting more inclusive and fair scientific communities. This declaration aims to present concrete actions that individual and organizations can take to promote equity and inclusion.
